Yes Bank partners with Amazon Pay, AWS to offer UPI payment services to customers

Yes Bank has announced its partnership with Amazon Pay and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide customers with an instant real-time payment system through a UPI transaction facility.

The integration allows Amazon Pay to issue UPI IDs with the @yapl handle, allowing customers to make secure, fast and convenient payments.

Based on a multi-bank model, this partnership will allow Yes Bank to acquire merchants through the Amazon Pay platform, further expanding the bank’s presence in the UPI trading segment, it said in a press release.

Yes Bank has developed a cloud-native UPI processing platform to optimally handle the high traffic of transactions observed during peak periods such as festivals or annual sales. The Bank hosts its UPI processing platform on AWS. With AWS, the bank has more flexibility to scale with the exponential growth of UPI volumes, driven by high customer demand.

Prashant Kumar, MD & CEO, Yes Bank, said: “With this partnership, we can offer our customers greater control, flexibility and choice for a wide variety of purchases and peer-to-peer transactions – through UPI-based payments.”

Mahendra Nerurkar, CEO and Vice President, Amazon Pay, added: “Our commitment is to make digital payments reliable, convenient and rewarding for customers across India. Our partnership with Yes Bank is an extension of this effort and unlocks more choices for our customers to pay anyone, anytime, anywhere, on or off Amazon.in.”

Puneet Chandok, President, Commercial Business, AWS India and South Asia, AISPL said: “This platform is available to customers and allows Yes Bank to continuously add new features and services aimed at improving the customer experience. ”

Round-Up for RMHC: restaurant owners take up the challenge

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Local McDonald’s owners have issued a challenge to Miami Valley customers to raise $25,000 for the Ronald MacDonald House Charities in Dayton.

According to a release, the challenge will begin on Giving Tuesday, November 30, and will run through Christmas Day. During this time, customers can opt for ‘Round-Up for RMHC’ when ordering from MacDonald’s area restaurants. If a customer says yes, the total is rounded up to the next dollar, with all proceeds going directly to RMHC Dayton.

“Rounding your total up is an easy way for anyone to give back. For most it’s only 25-50 cents per order, but that change is adding up quickly and helping to change the lives of families going through extremely challenging times,” said Kyle Kinney, a local McDonald’s owner. “We are so proud to continue our partnership with RMHC Dayton to help these families focus on what matters most: their child.”

More than 80 area restaurants compete to raise the most money during this period. According to the release, each restaurant only needs to raise $11.90 per day to meet the $25,000 goal.

Each week, the release said a traveling trophy will be awarded to the restaurant that raises the most. At the end of the challenge, the winning store will receive a trophy, special RMHC Dayton t-shirts, and restaurant staff recognition.

RMHC Dayton serves 3,200 families of sick and injured children each year by offering overnight stays at the Ronald McDonald House and by providing on-site rest through the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Dayton Children’s Hospital and Emmett’s Place at Miami Valley Hospital.

“The pandemic forced us to cancel most of our traditional fundraisers, so the Round-Up program is especially critical in helping us meet our operating budget at this time,” said Rita Cyr, CEO of RMHC Dayton. “We couldn’t continue serving families without the support of our local McDonald’s owners and operators through Round-Up and the donation boxes at the drive-thru and lobby.”

The challenge will only run until December 25th, but the Round-Up fundraiser is available year-round at all McDonald’s restaurants.
