Weather experts predict snowfall date in Liverpool

Forecasters have predicted when Liverpool will see snow this winter.

Merseyside has had a fairly mild November so far – although we are seeing some cooler temperatures this week.

Anyone going outside should wrap up warm, but it’s not just the cold we need to be aware of, with the Met Office issuing a yellow wind warning for Saturday (November 27).

This is expected to lead to traffic disruption in some areas, including delays on the region’s roads and public transport, with gusts of wind up to 65 km/h.

Snow is forecast for some parts of Scotland this week, while other parts of the UK will see snow this weekend, thanks to an Arctic cold coming in.

Those in Merseyside hoping for snow will have to wait a little longer.

Global weather experts Accuweather predict that Liverpool will get its first snowfall on December 24.

Forecasters say the city will experience lows of 0C this Saturday – which will feel more like -3C – but given the forecasted wind and rain, conditions will not be suitable for snow.

The next time the region will be this cold will be Christmas Eve, with Accuweather forecasting “a morning snowfall in some places” from Merseyside.

Christmas Day, according to forecasters, will be mostly sunny with highs of 6C.

Amazon's Alexa can now detect more types of sounds; such as running water, beeping appliances

Amazon has expanded Alexa’s sound detection capabilities with more features. Alexa can now recognize the sounds of running water and beeping appliances, reports Android Central.

Meaning of New Feature

Users can set up an Alexa routine to notify itself when the washing machine beeps to indicate that the wash is ready, the report said. When Alexa detects that the faucet has been left open, it also sends users a notification so they can take appropriate action, it added.

This feature allows your smart speaker to detect nearby motion and initiate a routine such as turning on the lights. It is compatible with many of the best Alexa speakers, including the 4th generation Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Dot with clock.

The two new sound-detection capabilities not only help users save energy, but they also make it easier to avoid paying unnecessary costs for your home utilities, the report said.

Amazon said earlier at its September event that it would add the ability to program Alexa to recognize custom sounds, but that feature is yet to come.

The retailer has also announced ultrasonic motion detection, which allows you to set up “occupation routines” on additional Echo devices.

DENVER (KDVR) — Additional cloud from Saturday will linger overnight, keeping our lows mild in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Sunshine is back to round out the weekend with high 50s highlights. Expect some wind in the afternoon with gusts up to 25+ mph. around the Denver metro area.

For the central and northern mountains and foothills, a high winds warning with gusts of 60-80 mph will be issued from 11pm Saturday to 11am Sunday. The National Weather Service said residents in the area will need to secure objects and that could lead to some power outages.

Cooler temperatures return for the coming work week with a few chances of snow in the mountains. The first system will come in later Monday and hang around until Tuesday afternoon with all the snow west of the Front Range.

The second system, which moves in on Thursday and may linger until Friday evening, will once again bring snow to the high country. However, the chances look better to see some snow and light rain in the urban area later on Thursday and into Friday. We’ll see how the models take shape in the coming days, but it looks like we might see Denver’s first official snowfall.
