What is Black Friday?

Walmart's Black Friday 2021 deals feature everything from hefty air fryers to tiny wireless earbuds, shop the savings today!

Black Friday is an annual sales event that traditionally happens at the end of November, after Thanksgiving. This year, like has been the case in the past few years, retailers will be emphasizing online shopping.

When is Black Friday 2021?

Black Friday falls on Friday, November 26, 2021. Cyber Monday will take place on Monday, November 29, 2021. Thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November, and each year, Black Friday occurs the day following, with Cyber Monday following shortly after.

When do Black Friday 2021 sales start?

Broadly speaking, Black Friday starts as soon as Thanksgiving ends. However, every year, Black Friday sales start earlier and earlier. With ongoing supply chain issues, we expect to see stores start their sales sooner and end them later. This year, we saw the first Black Friday sales begin in mid-October, with popular retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, offering up tons of epic deals.

How long do Black Friday sales last?

Black Friday is followed directly by Cyber Monday on November 29, 2021. Technically speaking, as soon as Cyber Monday begins, Black Friday ends. The best discounts are usually limited to these two days (and the weekend between them); however, some bargains stick around through the end of the following week.

What deals do we expect during Black Friday?

Early Black Friday 2021 deals are here

As in years past, Black Friday often matches and exceeds the best prices offered throughout the year. You can expect to save on nearly every product available. Whether you’re shopping for a new bed, the latest technology or a new winter coat, Black Friday will have your needs covered.

What stores offer Black Friday 2021 deals?

Nearly every retailer from big box stores, like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target, and start-ups, like Leesa, Casper and Our Place, offer some sort of promotion during Black Friday.

How do I prepare for Black Friday?

Ahead of Black Friday, make a list. Keep in mind that Black Friday offers some of the best prices during the year, so it’s a good idea to shop for everyone on your shopping list.

►Black Friday 2021: Black Friday deals: Amazon, Walmart, Target and more have unveiled holiday shopping plans

During Black Friday, we expect retailers to limit the availability of the very best doorbuster deals. When these deals become available, they could run out quickly.

To ensure that you’ll be able to checkout with ease, make sure your shipping and payment information is up to date at the retailers you intend to shop. Be aware of how much cash back your credit cards will net for each retailer, or if there are benefits you’d like to use (for instance, some credit cards offer extended warranties for certain products purchased).

If you’re not already an Amazon Prime member, you can sign-up for a free, month-long trial. The subscription is $6.49 for students and $5.99 for those receiving qualifying government assistance. For everyone else, an Amazon Prime subscription will cost $12.99 per month, or $119 per year. This subscription gets you free two-day shipping, plus tons of other benefits, including Prime Gaming, Prime Video and access to Amazon’s Lightning deals.

If you’re planning on shopping Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the optimal time to start or renew your Prime membership would be Monday, November 1. However, we recommend shopping early this year to avoid any supply issues.

Michigan vs. Iowa Live Score, Updates, Highlights of 2021 Big Ten Championship Game

Michigan took a major hurdle when it knocked out Ohio state last week. It was the Wolverines’ first win over the Buckeyes since 2011, and the first in Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s tenure.

But with a loss to Iowa in Saturday’s Big Ten title game, the win over Ohio State would suddenly have much less meaning. It would again be symbolic of Michigan reaching a large mound and failing to clear it, something that has plagued the corn and blue since Harbaugh’s arrival.

MORE: Meet Hassan Haskins, the Michigan RB who set Ohio State on fire

However, this is certainly one of the best teams Harbaugh has deployed on his return to Ann Arbor. The Wolverines, like the Hawkeyes, have been known for strong running and defense this season. In fact, it’s likely that the best player on the field for either team will not be a quarterback.

For Michigan, it will likely be defensive Aidan Hutchinson or linebacker David Ojabo leading the charge for the Wolverines’ defense. Hutchinson registered three sacks against Ohio State and is now the Wolverines’ single-season record holder in that category. Ojabo meanwhile provides a nice addition, with 11 tackles for losses and also 11 sacks.

MORE: Michigan vs. Iowa betting odds, trends, forecasts

But Iowa’s offensive line has Tyler Linderbaum, the highest center in the country. He’ll likely be tasked with punching holes for star-running Tyler Goodson, while Michigan’s offensive line will have to do the same for Hassan Haskins. Haskins scored five touchdowns against Ohio State.

This game is a must-win for Michigan and could help define Harbaugh’s legacy at his alma mater. However, a win in Iowa will likely keep the Big Ten out of the playoff altogether.

Sporting News will keep live scores and updates during the 2021 Big Ten Championship game. Follow below for full coverage.

Michigan vs. Iowa Live Updates, Highlights from the 2021 Big Ten Championship

8:35 PM: TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN. Jim Harbaugh calls out Blake Corum as a change of pace and it pays off as he takes 67 yards to the house for the score. Backup QB JJ McCarthy serves as the lead blocker. Michigan 7, Iowa 0 with 6:38 left in the first.

8:34 PM: Michigan starts its second leg of the game on its own 20, but quickly stares at third-and-3 of the 27 and the Wolverines convert. Cade McNamara hits Donovan Edwards 6 yards from backfield.

8:29 PM: Iowa reaches the Michigan 15, but after a three-and-out chooses to kick the 33-yard field goal to miss wide right. A tie remains at 0-0 and the Wolverines catch a big break on Iowa’s opening stage.

8:27 PM: Petras hits LaPorta again, this time for 21. Iowa is known for its tight ends, and LaPorta is just the latest in a long string of successful ones. Now first and 10 for the Hawkeyes out of 17.

8:25 PM: On third-and-7, Petras sends it out downfield and it falls completely, but Michigan is hit for a defensive pass interference. Moves the Hawkeyes to the Michigan 40 now looking at the first and 10.

8:23 PM: Spencer Petras hits tight end Sam LaPorta for 15 yards then runs back, Tyler Goodson takes it for 2. Hawkeyes approach midfield, looking for second and 8 of their own 43.

8:20 PM: The Wolverines go three-and-done early and kick it away from their own 33. Iowa takes over at 26 for its opening ride.

8:19 PM: The opening kick goes for a touchback. Michigan starts at its own 25.

Strictly fans 'cry' as 'painful' exit result leaked online ahead of semi-final

Strictly speaking, viewers were tense tonight as a number of couples were in danger of being in the dance-off

Strictly speaking: Johannes and John receive a score of 32 . from the jury

Strictly fans were in tears tonight when the “painful” exit result was leaked online.

It comes after a tense night as the couples compete to secure a place in the semi-finals.

At the bottom of the standings were AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington, who took their lowest score of the competition after failing to impress with their salsa.

However, at the top of the standings were Rhys and Nancy and Rose and Giovanni with 39.

While fans kept biting their nails in anticipation of the result hours after the result came in, viewers continued to sob as they found out who made it to the next round.

One commented: “I’m crying, I’m so happy.”

While another commented: “Somewhat sad, but it’s definitely the right result #StrictlySpoiler.”

A third wrote: “Aw I feel sad.”

But another pointed out: “The right 2 were in the dance out.”

Strictly fans were outraged by John and Johannes’ low scores

It comes after fans tonight were outraged by John Whaite and Johannes Radebe’s scores, accusing the judges of trying to “fix” the vote.

The 32-year-old Bake Off winner performed a Salsa tonight on Sister Sledge’s We are Family and wowed viewers.

But the judges were not that impressed, as they scored them lowest on the standings despite positive comments.

“We’ve asked you to add some other content,” Shirley Ballas noted. “You had a good time, well done.”

“It was great, I loved the disco feeling,” said Anton. “You came out without any inhibitions.”

They got a seven, two eights and a nine.

One commented: “JOHN AND JOHANNES UNDERMARKED! #strict.”

While another raged: “If they score Dan higher than John, I’ll revolt. Then NEVER could do what John just did. #Strict.”
