Live music once again fills Riverside Park this weekend as the Salida Riverside Fine Arts and Music Festival gets underway Saturday.

Other venues boast a rich assortment of talent that should appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes.

Today


At 6 p.m. Rok Skool alumni BAM performs at the Thursdays at Six concert at Riverside Park.

From 6-9 p.m. Dave Mensch performs country rock fusion at The Lariat, 206 Main St., Buena Vista.

At 7 p.m. singer songwriter Carey Nall plays funk and blues at Wood’s High Mountain Distillery, 144 W. First St.

Friday


Chapman stick artist David Tipton performs a variety of music from 5-7 p.m. at Vino Salida, 10495 CR 120, Poncha Springs

The Bounty, 413 W. U.S. 50, presents Bent Roses from 5:30-8 p.m. on the patio. The duo plays country and western, rock, ballads, blues and original tunes.

Dallas, Texas, Grateful Dead tribute band Forgotten Space performs at 6 p.m. at the Beach on South Main in Buena Vista.

Guitarist Jerry Arellano plays for diners from 6-8:30 p.m. on the patio at Fiesta Mexicana, 1220 E. U.S. 50.

Duke and Tami Sheppard perform Americana and alternative country as Pint & A Half at 6:30 p.m. for the Friday Afternoon Club at Boathouse Cantina, 228 N. F St.

From 6-9 p.m. Barb Maxey brings the blues to The Lariat in Buena Vista.

The Jaden Carlson Band performs funk and fusion starting at 9:30 p.m. at Victoria Tavern, 143 N. F St. There is a $3 cover charge.

At 10 p.m. Durango’s “funkadeligrass” band Liver Down the River performs funky bluegrass at The Lariat in Buena Vista.

Saturday


The Salida Riverside Fine Arts and Music Festival at Riverside Park features music all day on the Salida Rotary Amphitheater stage, starting at 11:30 a.m. with acoustic rock with a woodwind twist by Ceruleus.

At 1 p.m. Denver’s Band On the Fence takes the stage with Americana and more.

The Colorado School of Rock Wounded Warrior Music Program’s Wounded Warrior Band performs a Motown rock and soul revue at 2:30 p.m.

Front Range band Ponder the Albatross performs a variety of genres of original music at 4 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m. local band Milo Hayes Meld takes the stage with their funk, jazz, bluegrass and rhythm and blues sounds. The band features musicians Charlie Milo, Bruce Hayes, Michael Hawkins and Khalill Brown.

Elsewhere indie folk duo 2B1 performs live music with special guests River Tribe Drum and Dance Troupe from 2-4 p.m. at Benson’s Tavern & Beer Garden, 124 N. F St.

Augustus performs live music at 3 p.m. for the anniversary party at The Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar, 412 E. Main St., Buena Vista.

Ceruleus brings their unique rock sound to Vino Salida from 5-7 p.m.

From 6-9 p.m. singer-songwriter Jackson Emmer performs at The Lariat in Buena Vista.

The party at the The Jailhouse Craft Beer Bar in Buena Vista continues with bluegrass band The River Arkansas at 7 p.m.

Salida Aspen Concerts features classical Spanish guitarist Colin Davin at 7 p.m. at Salida High School auditorium, 26 Jones Ave. Tickets cost $15 for adults. Students kindergarten through 12th grade are admitted free. Adults accompanying students pay $10.

Jazz and Brazilian guitarist Justin Allison performs from 7-10 p.m. at Wood’s High Mountain Distillery.

At 9 p.m. Fort Collins band Colony Funk churns out funk, soul, blues and rock at 9 p.m. on the stage at Victoria Tavern. There is a $3 cover charge.

In Buena Vista Forgotten Space plays jam, rock and Grateful Dead tunes at 10 p.m. at The Lariat.

Sunday


The Salida Riverside Fine Arts and Music Festival continues with live music, featuring folk music with Cañon City’s Doc and Kit at 10:30 a.m.

At noon guitarist Clyde Tullis plays blues.

In other venues, David Tipton performs original music and more on the versatile Chapman stick from 1-4 p.m. at Benson’s Tavern & Beer Garden.

Lazy Alien Blues Band plays a tribute to late bandmate James Norman Bates at 3 p.m. at Victoria Tavern.

From 5-7 p.m. Unconventional Wisdom performs for this week’s Jazz on the Plaza at Salida SteamPlant, 220 W. Sackett Ave.

Tuesday


Barb Maxey brings her blues guitar to McPhelemy Park in Buena Vista from 6-7:30 p.m. for the Concerts in the Park summer music series.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Rostenko performs from 6-9 p.m. at The Lariat in Buena Vista.

Wednesday


Guitarist Luke Callen performs at 6 p.m. at Benson’s Tavern & Beer Garden.

The Lariat hosts its weekly open mike night at 7 p.m., providing an opportunity for local musicians to try out new material for a live audience.
